6th Grade/ Hammurabi's Code
Homework Discussion Post [Due by Friday, 1/23/2015]:
In your opinion, was Hammurabi's Code a fair way to rule the people of Ancient Mesopotamia?

Most of Hammurabi's code is not fair for example the code where it says if a son strikes his father the boys hands will be cut off but what if the father strikes the boy first so the boy would be using self defense also what if the boy accidentally hits his father. Will his hands still be cut off?
I think it is not fair because they say to chop people's hands off and all these other laws like through them into water and they be tied together and die why would you make these laws so bad? Then they treat judges and other people better than most. That's why it's not fair.
Some of Hammurabi's Code is fair but most of it is not like the code that say's if a son hits his father the boys hands will be cut off but what if the son Accidental hit his father will the sons hands still be cut off.

I think that some are not fair because the burn,chops people hands off, and they destroy eyes... so i think that his rules are way to far.
